6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Canada

Ottawa, Canada (AHN) - The US Geological Survey reported that a strong earthquake, which registered a 6.2 magnitude on the Richter Scale, hit the west coast of Canada particularly the Queen Charlotte Island Region of British Colombia.

The earthquake was felt at 1440 GMT 275 kilometers (171 miles) north-northwest of Port Hardy, British Colombia and 624 kilometers (299 miles) north-northwest of Vancouver. No damage is reported so far.
